🍇 About

Welcome to Rotten Fruit Press, the creative corner of Jennifer Campo’s writing world.

I’m a long-time writer, beginner sharer, emerging from the fuckery of an atrocious lawsuit and finally stepping out of my writing closet.

Here, I publish under my name (👋 hi, I'm Jennifer), and Rotten Fruit Press is my thematic umbrella. It’s where my poetry, pop-culture fanfic, and Sicilian lore obsession ferment into something strange, soft, and saucy. Sorry, I had to do it.

My current project is called Strange Woman—part memoir, part user manual, part ancestral haunting—this project documents my journey after surviving sexual assault by a doctor…who is still practicing, by the way. It’s the guidebook I needed after I pressed charges, and it’s my love letter to survivors. Spoiler alert: it’s not you, babe.

While Sicilian folklore and pop culture fanfic might seem unrelated, they all thread into the fabric of Strange Woman’s narrative. I think in systems and see the world as a stage. I’m unraveling the stories we’ve been told, which are often stranger than fiction, and exploring the programming and conditioning that shape us. My work is about deconstructing these layers—art about art—and threading the lies out of our souls.
